Hey all,
Just finished replacing the belt to the blower... had bought the Gates equivalent to the stock Bando belt, and it didn't fit right. Got the Bando (free courtesy of Keith at JR) and it's the ONLY belt that fits right!!! The Gates made my blower pulley and my idler pulley hit (running a stock SC pulley by the way)thus making a nice shredding sound and scraping my stuff.
USE ONLY BANDO.
This whole thing started because:
1. I was dumb and I didn't check the belt tension every once in a while like I was supposed to.
2. It was raining ALOT. Be careful in the rain, especially if your lowered... made my original belt slip off and get shredded to pieces.
3. Tight belts make POWER!! (Holden had mentioned this awhile ago...) keep them tight and go fast. My car is like .5 sec faster than it was.
For anyone needing some help with how to accomplish this pain in the ass task, see the post "What make model belt for SC" post; Holden posted his flexible wratchet setup, which makes changing the belts alot easier.
